Clover Mobile states that it was specifically designed for food trucks, restaurants that offer tableside payment, mobile service professionals such as landscapers or plumbers, retailers who offer "line-busting" services or who do their own inventory scanning, and businesses that frequently process payments outside of a traditional environment, such as at tradeshows or fairs.
Finally, some merchants might find Clover hardware limiting. Unlike other POS systems that run on Apple or Android devices, Clover’s proprietary hardware only works with Clover POS (with one exception, which I’ll get to shortly). That means if you buy the hardware and you end up not liking Clover, you can’t use your equipment with any other system. What’s more, your unit cannot even be reprogrammed if you want to switch to another First Data-approved merchant account. You’ll have to buy a whole new hardware bundle.
We cover the features of the various systems in a comprehensive set of reviews for each product in the Clover family. No matter which Clover equipment you choose, you’ll need to sign up for a monthly software plan, which is one factor that will dictate which features you’ll be able to use. For example, advanced inventory functionality or restaurant modifier capabilities are only available with the Register plan.
not worth the money. Company purchased these, we are unable to print out the reports we need, the clover was a bit misleading as to what it can actually do. we took a step down when we purchased these guys. Their tech support is not so helpful the calls are always very muffled, and they seem to not know very much. While it is easy to use for a sale, I would not count on the advanced features as any training features just does not cut it.
Whomever set you up did not provide justice to you and for that I am sorry. I work extensively with Clover and it will do the things you spoke of without “reinventing the wheel” and allow your business to work. Invoices and estimates can be created in an app called Invoice ASAP and the inventory should be easily trackable. Go to your inventory app, in the upper left hand corner there are three lines next to the Inventory logo, click on them, it will give you a drop down, click settings and then check both boxes, tracking and auto deducting inventory as it is sold.
I would give less if I could in ratings. We signed up with Key Bank Merchant Services ( don’t use them either, awful) they promoted Clover for our new restaurant as ease of use, reporting and integration with our payroll company. This system hasn’t worked since day 1. It has cost us thousands in manhours, aggravation and stress. We are now trying resolutions with Key Banks Northeast Regional Head to try and resolve. This was an investment nightmare from start to finish. We failed to do our due diligence and have paid the price. We will make them pay if they can’t resolve these issues
