This is honestly the worst POS system I’ve ever worked on. If you have a table service place that’s busy, it can’t even keep up. I take longer editing and entering food. Every feature that comes with Aloha or Micros or any other system costs extra monthly for this system and it makes no sense. The printer is constantly going out, there’s really no rhyme or reason to any of it. If I change a name on a ticket, there’s no changing it when I print it out. If someone wants to tab out of a group, the entire ticket needs to be tabbed out or you have to create a new table and move the guest there. So much of it makes no sense if anyone who developed the app had even asked for a restaurant to beta it.
What truly makes Square stand out isn’t its hardware, but its payment processing. Square processing provides an alternative to a merchant account for businesses that aren’t ready for the cost or commitment a merchant account entails. Square offers a pay-as-you-go system, which has no monthly fee or monthly minimum, for just 2.6% +$0.10 per transaction. If you opt for an industry-specific POS software package, such as Square for Restaurants or Square for Retail, you’ll pay an additional $60/month, but the month-to-month contract gives you plenty of flexibility if you decide Square isn’t for you.
Similar to Square, the main thing Payment Depot has going for it is its payment processing. Payment Depot offers flat-rate pricing of 2.6% + $0.10/transaction (the same rate as Square’s and Lightspeed’s). There’s an additional $10 monthly fee, but this fee comes with Payment Depot’s excellent customer support and even your own dedicated merchant account — something you don’t get with a third-party processor, such as Square or PayPal Here. Payment Depot also offers interchange-plus pricing plans as your business grows. Once you graduate to processing $10K-$25K/month, you’ll be eligible for Payment Depot’s $49/month plan with interchange-plus pricing.

What Clover does not let you know when you sign up and it is in the contract is that they will charge you $25.00 charge back fee. So lets put this in perspective. You have a small sandwich shop and you have a charge back of 10.00. Clover will reverse the 10.00 charge and charge you 25.00. Wow....I don't know about you but that is a big hit...we pay .05 per transaction then the charges for MC and Visa then to be hit with a 25.00 charge back fee... When does it end. READ and ASK about the CHARGE BACK FEES! BUYER BEWARE

provide support. Your experience is unfortunately common and could be resolved by a knowledgeable rep. Search the App Market for some simple fixes at very reasonable pricing, with free Trial Periods. We have had several Clover merchants buy new Clovers because of the experienced support we give them to find the solutions for their business, not somebody else’s.
The Clover Mini, as its name implies, is smaller than the full Clover Station, but is still designed for use in a fixed location. (Looking for portability in-store or at a restaurant? Go with Mobile or Flex.) It includes many of the same functions as the full POS, and can scan barcodes and QR codes. It also has a built-in printer can be tethered to the Clover Station for use as a customer-facing display and card swiper.
Some credit card processors (like Heartland) can offer “non-integrated” processing with the Clover. Instead of accepting payments through the Clover POS, you’ll take cards using a connect countertop terminal. (With Heartland, an Ingenico iCT220.) Essentially, you’ll use the Clover station for your point of sale functions such as order entry and reporting, and use the countertop terminal to actually accept payments.
The Clover Mobile POS system offers a choice between wireless or wireless/3G connectivity, with a 7" screen, and built-in rechargeable battery. Additionally, apps in the Clover App Market can be added to the Clover Mobile, increasing functionality and allowing businesses to tailor the system to their specific needs. An optional printer can also be added for quick receipt printing anywhere a transaction is processed.
