The only nice thing I can say about Clover is the machines themselves. They work. Customer service is about as bad as I have ever experienced. You call and a computer answers, you get put on hold, each customer service person says they can’t help you and pass you off to someone else you puts you on hold and then they say they can’t help you. All I have ever gotten has been the run around. In three months of trying to close my account because I closed the business, I have had ONE person actually help me and what needed done turned out to be very easy. Basically Clover, Owned by FirstData SUCKS.

Clover is a very acceptable point of sale system for small businesses, as long as you understand the risks and challenges of using First Data for payment processing and hardware/software support and are pretty confident you want to use Clover for the long-haul (or you can afford to buy new equipment if Clover doesn’t work out). Also, make sure you are comfortable with the bank/merchant account you purchase Clover from because you’ll be relying on them for most support-related issues. Avoid like the plague!!! The system itself is passable, but lacks several of the features that our salesperson assured us would be available. The main issue is the Clover Customer Service. Trying to even access your account while speaking with a CS Rep is excruciatingly difficult! We were provided our Merchant ID number, which we enter each time we call. It never works (even though we have been told it is the correct number). So they then ask you several minutes of questions to confirm your identity. I know that is for our benefit, but shouldn't be necessary each time. We have tried to change the contact email address, ("Can't help you with that"). We tried to change the business address, ("No problem.") but it still hasn't been changed. And good luck trying to get any real technical help! Sorry to rant, but we dumped this system after four months due to the extremely poor customer service and bait and switch we feel we fell for.
